Postira is a town on the island of Brac, located approximately 9 km from Supetar between Splitska and Pucisca. The name comes from the Latin word pastura meaning pasture. Today, the settlement is a famous and developed tourist resort, and was declared as the best - settlement of Dalmatia in the year 2012. To its visitors it offers a multitude of diverse content, so lovers of cultural heritage can enjoy sightseeing of the parish church of St. John the Baptist from the 16th century, or a series of stone houses that once belonged to wealthy men of Brac among which is the famous citadel Lazanic, while during the summer you can attend a variety of cultural events and folk festivals that take place in Postire.
